Barnesville, Minn. (WDAY TV) - It's delicate, flat and delicious, and at the center of a competition at Barnesville’s Potato Days. The lefse contest is an annual tradition at Potato Days which kicked off today.

This year there was seven entries. Many came to watch and eat lefse. Mike Stoddard and his wife Kathleen were in the competition. They had one hour to cook up the best looking and best tasting lefse possible.

“It’s just fun to do and tastes good and it's kind of a family tradition. It's fun to have time doing this spending time with my boys and my wife.”

Mike says his recipe was passed down from relatives who came here from Norway. The winner this year is an 89 year old from South Dakota. His prize was 200 dollars. 2nd place got 100, third place got fifty.
