Fargo, ND (WDAY Sports) - It's getting good in the Northern League, just five games left in the regular season and the top 3 teams are separated by just a half game.

After Fargo Moorhead and Gary lost while Winnipeg wins, RedHawks fall to Kansas City.

Jeremiah Piepkorn came into the game leading the league in hitting at .339. He raised that number tonight. In the first, Piepkorn launches a 2-run homer, his 18th, 2-1 Hawks.

KC loaded the bases and scored in each of the first 3 innings against Hawks starter Jeff Icenogle. They eventually took a 4-2 lead in the top of the 3rd...

In the bottom of four, that guy again, Piepkorn, hitting .450 in his last 11 games, singles in Zach Penprase, Hawks down 4-3.

But Gary loses, and Winnipeg wins so Gary leads the RedHawks and Goldeyes by a half game.
