So the circus has come to town, maybe its' really the zoo, I don’t' know, but here's what I do know. Brad Childress is not only playing with fire, he's playing with 2 tons of dynamite next to the fire.
I'm on record saying that Brett Favre is not the right fit for this team. Not healthy, not a game manager, not a full season performer, but as a long suffering Vikings fan, I wouldn't have minded it had this whole thing been done by the start of training camp.
But now you have a locker room full of players who had to sweat it out in Mankato knowing that Childress basically let Favre skip the whole thing and that will be ok as long as Favre plays well and the team wins. But if either fails to materialize, this will be a bigger bucket of snakes than the T-jack chronicles.
There are now the rules for the team and the rules for Favre. Which also apparently include the rule that you can show up one day and play 3 days later? Another bad idea, all you can do is set him up to fail. He was nowhere near ready to play.
Now after one for four, a lot of people are saying maybe he doesn't have it any more. I heard an ESPN so called expert say today that he struggled in the opener which is of course ridiculous, but coach did it to himself, opened the door to the detractors.
If there's more second guessing after the third game, things could really get crazy and not just outside the locker room either.
