Fargo, ND (WDAY Sports) - Perhaps some future college all stars were on the field over at North High School this afternoon for the 31st annual Punt, Pass and Kick competition.
The event is put on by the Fargo Jaycees and brought out about 30 kids from all over the region today.
Ranging in age from 8 to 15, the top finishers in each age group advance to sectional qualifying. Former Bison Zach Harrington is running the event and says this can really help kids embrace football.
“I used to compete in it when I was younger, and it really gets you passionate about football. Anytime you can get active all year round it's going to help. Hopefully we can get some people interested in football and help them to the next level.
“I kind of like football. It's one of my favorite sports. In practice we don't get to just focus on punting and passing.”
The sectional champs will have a chance to compete a Viking game later this year.
