Fargo, ND (WDAY Sports) - The Fargo North football team faced an adjustment last season, with first year Head Coach Kelly Kalina implementing a brand new defense and spread offense.
And while the Spartans only have 5 returning starters, and a new quarterback, Kalina feels the team is way ahead of where it was last season at this time.
“We have a lack of experience as far as playing time, but the kids that we have are more comfortable in the two systems that we had in last year. It's a transition, and it goes for coaches and players that we're working with different kids and it's the same system. So it's nice that way that the kids understand what we're doing.”
North opens its season at home a week from tomorrow against defending state champ Bismarck.
