West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Construction crews in West Fargo are once again dealing with problems before building has even started. Just like weeks ago, workers are running into more issues with the Sheyenne River and soil moisture. WDAY 6 Reporter Travis Skonseng has more.

Work at this construction site on 32nd Avenue South is at a near stand still. Work even quit for awhile. A new bridge was supposed to be up by now, just in time for school, but now that could be weeks if not months away.

The old bridge has been taken out and work is underway somewhat on the new one. Part of the problem is the Sheyenne has been high since spring.

They couldn't divert water to the diversion because of scheduled maintenance. This now means added issues for drivers.

“Especially now that school is starting this will be even more problematic and rerouting traffic and it's not the best of situations.”

The current construction idea won't work now. Contractors plan to sit down by Friday to come up with an alternate option.
