AMENIA, N.D. - The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified a Hunter man who died Saturday in a two-vehicle accident in Cass County.
Darrell Ramstad, 63, was ejected from his vehicle in the accident, which happened about 1:16 p.m. near Amenia, at County Road 32 and State Highway 18, the patrol said in a news release.
Ramstad, driving a 1996 Mercury four-door sedan, was eastbound on County Road 32 and failed to yield at its junction with Highway 18, the highway patrol said. East- and westbound traffic on the county road has stop signs at the intersection.
Ramstad’s vehicle was struck on the driver’s side front tire and door area by a 2006 Chevy truck.
The vehicle came to rest in the southwest ditch of the intersection.
The truck came to rest in the southeast ditch. The driver of the truck, Brandon Roller, 21, of Hope, N.D., and passenger Christopher Grandalen, 19, of Portland, N.D., were not injured. Another passenger, Alyssa Archer, 19, of Finley, N.D., was injured. She was not listed as a patient at Innovis Health, where the Highway Patrol said she was transported.
No charges will be filed in the accident.
