GRANDIN, N.D. (AP) — Authorities have identified a father and daughter from Edmonton, Alberta, who died in a head-on collision involving a minivan and a semitrailer on Interstate 29 north of Fargo.
The Highway Patrol says 43-year-old Colin Berry and his 11-year-old daughter, Rachel, died Tuesday morning when the minivan Colin Berry was driving crossed the median and collided head-on with the semi.
The patrol says it appears Colin Berry was distracted by something and then overcorrected.
Berry's 43-year-old wife, Lizyanet (LIZ'-ah-net), was flown to a Fargo hospital with serious injuries.
The 61-year-old semi driver, Gary Zinck of Jamestown, was not hurt.
