GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Former University of North Dakota hockey player Joe Finley has pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct and giving false information to officers.
The 22-year-old Finley is accused of throwing such items as dinnerware, a kitchen table and a lawnmower onto a Grand Forks street on July 21, creating a traffic hazard. He also is accused of giving campus police a false name.
Finley graduated from UND in the spring and signed with the Washington Capitals. He has declined comment.
Current Sioux player Matt Frattin earlier pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was given a 10-day suspended sentence. The 21-year-old Frattin, a Toronto draft pick, also was suspended for two games. UND reduced his student aid and ordered him to get counseling.
Police said the property that was thrown from a residential garage belonged to the two men.
