GRANDIN, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a father and daughter from Edmonton, Alberta, are dead after a head-on collision involving a minivan and a semitrailer on Interstate 29 north of Fargo.
The Highway Patrol did not immediately release the names of the 43-year-old man and his 11-year-old daughter.
Authorities say the man was driving the minivan, which crossed the median about 25 miles north of Fargo about 8 a.m. Tuesday and collided head-on with the semi. The patrol said the man's 43-year-old wife was flown to a Fargo hospital with serious injuries.
The 61-year-old semi driver, Gary Zinck of Jamestown, was not hurt.
The crash blocked northbound traffic on the interstate for about 40 minutes. Traffic was backed up for several miles.
