Bail is set for an area teen accused of robbing a Credit Union in West Fargo earlier this week. WDAY's Chastity Walberg has more from the Cass County courthouse.
Bail for Matthew Becker is set at $100-thousand dollars. He's charged with robbery, theft of property and giving false information to police in connection with the armed robbery at the Town and Country Credit Union Monday afternoon.
Prosecutors say Becker stole more than $500 dollars during the robbery. Cass County State's Attorney Birch Burdick says the high amount of bail fits the nature of the crime.
If convicted of all the charges, Becker faces up to 16 years in jail and $17-thousand dollars in fines. He's expected to be back in court in September.
Burdick says he doesn't know yet if Becker will be charged with the robbery in federal court.
