Kindred developer donates land for park

Kindred, ND (WDAY TV) - Thanks to a kindred developer, the town now has land to put in a new park. The Newport Ridge developers handed over the deed to the land during today's Kindred Days Festival.

Kindred, ND (WDAY TV) - Thanks to a kindred developer, the town now has land to put in a new park. The Newport Ridge developers handed over the deed to the land during today's Kindred Days Festival.

Kindred, ND (WDAY TV) - Thanks to a kindred developer, the town now has land to put in a new park. The Newport Ridge developers handed over the deed to the land during today's Kindred Days Festival.

Group members want to turn the land into something useful for the entire community. The land sits next to the baseball field in town. Now it's up to the parks department to decide how it will look and what will go inside.

“Trying to build that harmony within the community and seamless-ness between the different parts of the community and so we're excited about it.”

Ottis hopes additions like the park will bring more people to Kindred.

During today's Kindred Days celebration, a gang from the old west showed up, giving people in the crowd a live action show.

Some local citizens played roles in the three part series of short plays. People lined the streets to watch it all play out. The story's about a notorious gang whose causing trouble in the Dakotas and the local law enforcement is trying to run them out of town. The actors shot real handguns, but used blanks to keep it safe.
