Fergus Falls, Minn. (WDAY TV) - You don't have to go to the countryside to see chickens in Fergus Falls anymore. The city council passed a measure to allow chickens in residential areas.
The ordinance is a one-year provision, allowing 12 permits, each carrying a limit of 4 chickens.
Roosters and the slaughtering and breeding of chickens are not allowed. Permit applicants must get consent from neighboring property owners.
The measure came about when some people asked to raise chickens as a hobby and for eggs.
