American Crystal raises projected payment

(WDAY TV) - Good news for sugar beet farmers, American Crystal Sugar is increasing its projected payment for the 2008 crop.
The Red River Valley sugar beet cooperative told shareholders they'll get 49-dollars per ton.
That's two-dollars more than the March projection and up from the initial 44-dollars and 40-cents projected during the companies annual meeting last December.
If realized, it will be the third year in a row for 45-dollar or better projections.
