Thompson, ND (WDAY TV) - Clean-up continues across the northern valley after Saturday night's high winds and rain caused severe damage. Dozens of trees ripped in half, limbs and branches are scattered around many yards and streets.

The strong winds even knocked down metal poles. Winds reached 59 miles per hour. People are now piling up all the mess. A Thompson family says they've never seen storm damage this bad.

"I think it might have been a funnel cloud because it didn't take out any of the evergreens to the north there and it broke most of the trees in half, so it must have just touched down low enough to take them down."

Austin says it will take about a week for him to cleanup.
