DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Thunderstorms are erupting across Iowa again, bringing more hail, heavy rain and strong winds.

The National Weather Service says the storms that hit western Iowa early Friday were packing winds of 60 mph and dumping up to 2 inches of rain an hour.

The weather service reported in Audubon County, a tree fell on a car in Gray, while large tree branches were down across town.

In central Iowa, trees were down in Huxley and Maxwell in Story County, while a tree damaged a bank in Boone.

Friday's storms follow storms that hit the state late Wednesday and early Thursday, causing widespread damage and power outages.
