West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - After our recent rains, we know one thing, prepare for the biting to begin. This father’s day marks the start of National Mosquito Awareness Week. As WDAY 6 Reporter Kevin Wallevand tells us, one West Fargo man has come up with a way to battle the bug.

When it comes right down to it, Tom Kenville, like the rest of us wants to spend these precious few summer days outside, working, playing.

“I got grand kids three years old and they stand there and get bit and they don't know what to do and why are we doing this.”

With an inventive mind and entrepreneurial spirit, tom has invented Skeet-R-Gone.

“So concentrated that I am going to put 2-ounces on my yard today in about 7-minutes.”

Simple enough, a non chemical product with oils, garlic, lemon.

“I am also going to mix that with 400-gallons at the right mixture of water and suffocate those mosquitoes.”

The most common way to get the product on to your lawn is the easiest and quickest, a sprinkler.

For years, people have been concerned about spraying chemicals for mosquitoes in yards. Health of children, pets, but the West Fargo grown product is almost drinkable.

“Safe for pets, humans, and it is aquatic safe and it is perfect for the lake.”

Those without sprinklers can also hand spray trouble spots or small yards. One way to celebrate National Mosquito Week, by helping get rid of the critters. Kenville also has another product catching the eye of the Ag world. Something called Flock Buster, an environmentally friendly liquid which repels blackbirds in sunflower fields.
