GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The third annual Red River International Bike Tour kicks off today.
Organizer Mike Kellogg says about 60 people are taking part in the five-day ride, from as far as New York, Florida and California.
Bikers leave from Grand Forks' Town Square, but that's the only part of the tour in North Dakota this year. The rest will cover nearly 300 miles of northwest Minnesota. Riders also can choose to cross the border into Canada for a short leg.
North Dakota has other annual bike tours. The most notable is Cycling Around North Dakota In Sakakawea Country in the western part of the state.
