Local lawmaker interested in Governor's office

Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A day after Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty said he wouldn't seek a 3rd term in office, local lawmakers says he may be interested. Morrie Lanning says Pawlenty's announcement "opens the door for me to think about the possibility."

Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A day after Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty said he wouldn't seek a 3rd term in office, local lawmakers says he may be interested.

Morrie Lanning says Pawlenty's announcement "opens the door for me to think about the possibility."

Lanning was Moorhead’s mayor for 22-years, before becoming a state representative in 2003.

Lanning says he doesn't know when he'll make a decision.

As many as 20 Republicans are considering jumping into the race.
