Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It looks like the local housing market is taking a turn. Realtors say sales have rebounded this month and look like they'll stay that way.
WDAY 6 Reporter Christina Vaughn talked with two local realtors, she has more on why they say now's the time to buy and sell.
There's been a change in the local housing market wind, its picking up.
“It’s good to be a realtor in Fargo right now, it really is, and it’s good to be a realtor in the Fargo-Moorhead area.”
After a recent slump in the market, realtors say for the past three weeks homes in the area have been selling like hotcakes.
“I’ve heard of multiple offers on some homes things like that, which we haven't heard of in a while.”
Realtors say this boost isn't just random, they say there are a lot of incentives to buy and sell right now.
For the next week, 70 homes are on display in the Fargo-Moorhead Home Builders Association "Parade of Homes."
Homes on the route are scattered throughout Fargo, Moorhead, Horace, Dilworth and West Fargo.
Realtors say there's not one specific thing home-hunters are looking for.
They say this tour is good for buyers because there are homes of all price ranges.
“Provided by the state of North Dakota with the North Dakota bond, with the 8,000 dollar tax incentive, the low interest rates, affordable pricing, good inventory.”
Realtors say the first time home buyer tax incentive of 8 thousand dollars is the leader of the pack.
“And what that's doing is generating a real, bottom up in the marketplace.”
Interest rates are sitting at 4.75%, a rate realtors say is excellent.
“Makes us very happy, that we know we're going to be busy, we're optimistic, we're excited about the entire year, and we’re excited about the next two to three years.”
Realtors say this boom in the market is a testament to the local economy's strength. They say if you're thinking about buying or selling, now is the time because you won't be the only one looking to get in on a good deal.
Realtors say some people showing up at open houses are from out of state. They say they're drawn to the area because of the strong local economy.
