LARIMORE, ND (WDAZ-TV) - Most Memorial Day services are put on by retired veterans who volunteer every year to make sure their fallen fellow vets are honored.

There is one vet from Larimore, Bennie Nowek, who has been doing that for close to 60 years.

At 91 years old, Nowek is still honoring his fallen comrades. And that included Monday at the Memorial Day service in Larimore.

He was part of the honor and color guard and has been a member of the American Legion Post of Larimore for 58 years. 34 of those years he served as Post Adjutant.

He has presented the colors to the families of over 400 of his fellow veterans at their funeral services. And he has no plans on stopping soon.
