GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - An 18-year-old man from Minneapolis is accused of stealing a TV from the Ramada Inn in Grand Forks and running from police.
Police were called to the Ramada Inn for a theft report at about 1:30 p.m. Monday. A responding officer located the suspect, Jeremiah Williams, who fled on foot heading south toward the Holiday Air apartments.
The officer radioed for assistance from the Police Department, Grand Forks County Sheriff's Department, the UND Police Department and the Grand Forks Narcotics Task Force.
Officers searched the area for Williams, who was found and arrested about 30 minutes later.
Williams is charged with failure to halt, giving false information to law enforcement, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft. He's currently being held at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.
The stolen TV was recovered. Investigation into the incident continues and more charges are pending.
