Parking Restrictions, Street Closures This Saturday for Clinton Visit

GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - Several streets in downtown Grand Forks will be closed to traffic Saturday morning for former President Bill Clinton's public appearance.

GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - Several streets in downtown Grand Forks will be closed to traffic Saturday morning for former President Bill Clinton's public appearance.

DeMers Ave. will be closed from 4th St. to East Grand Forks, including the Sorlie Bridge. Pedestrians will be allowed to cross the bridge, but can't view Clinton's appearance from the bridge.

3rd St. will be closed from Kittson Ave. to 1st Ave. N. The street closures will take effect at 9 a.m. and will affect some downtown bus routs.

The Greenway bike trails will also be closed from Minnesota Ave. to 2nd Ave. N.

Clinton is scheduled to speak at about 10:45 a.m. near the flood marker in the Greenway next to the Sorlie Bridge.

If you plan on attending, arrive no later than 10:15 a.m. Parking will be available in the downtown parking ramps. Limited public seating is available. You can bring lawn chairs or other portable seating.

After the downtown event, President Clinton will speak at the Democratic State Convention at 1 p.m. at the Alerus Center. WDAZ will be broadcasting his speech live.
