2 Charged With Neglect After Child Found Alone in Devils Lake Motel Room

DEVILS LAKE (WDAZ-TV) - Police say two people are facing charges after allegedly leaving a 2-year-old child alone in a Devils Lake motel room.

DEVILS LAKE (WDAZ-TV) - Police say two people are facing charges after allegedly leaving a 2-year-old child alone in a Devils Lake motel room.

Devils Lake police say they responded to the bar at the Great American Inn on Thursday evening because of a report of two intoxicated people.

Police say an investigation revealed that 22-year-old Jodie Blackboy of Warwick, ND, and 38-year-old Martin Thumb of Devils Lake allegedly left the two-year-old locked in a motel room without supervision.

Police say both are charged with felony child abuse or neglect.

The child was removed from the room and turned over to social services.

Both of the people charged have an extensive rap sheet in North Dakota.

Blackboy has been infolved in seven court cases dating back to 2007.

Thumb has 15 as far back as 1991.
