DEVILS LAKE, ND (WDAZ-TV) - We haven't had much to shiver about during this mild winter, but that hasn't affected plans for this year's annual Devils Lake ShiverFest.

Devils Lake Tourism Director Suzie Baisch says this year's ShiverFest should bring out a larger crowd than last year's.

"It all depends on weather. So if the weather's going to stay nice and consistent, we're gonna have some pretty good numbers," Baisch said.

The 12th annual ShiverFest should offer something for everyone who does come. There are plenty of activities on the ice and some for those who prefer to stay warm.

"There's shopping for them to do with the vendor show and discounts downtown and different things. So we like to make sure there's a wide variety for everybody," Baisch said.

But those who enjoy the cold will be in for a treat. Baisch says above-freezing temps shouldn't temper that excitement.

"The ice is definitely thick enough so we don't need to worry about that," Baisch said.

She says events like the childrens ice fishing tournament and ice golf are so popular, some people want to leave when they're done.

"Last year they slept over on the ice. It was kind of cool. Yeah, we get pretty serious here in Devils Lake," Baisch said.
