Arctic Cat Recalling 19,000 Snowmobiles

(WDAZ-TV) - Thief River Falls-based Arctic Cat is recalling 19,000 snowmobiles because of a steering control malfunction.

(WDAZ-TV) - Thief River Falls-based Arctic Cat is recalling 19,000 snowmobiles because of a steering control malfunction.

The affected units are the F, XF and M models sold from May 2011 through December 2011.

The company says the lower steering tie-rod attachment can loosen and cause a loss of steering control. There have been four reports of such incidents including one complete loss of steering control. There have been no reports of injuries.

If you own one of the affected models, stop using it and contact your local Arctic Cat dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair.

The recall is for model numbers F800 LXR, F1100 LXR, F800 Sno Pro, F1100 Turbo, F1100 Sno Pro Limited, XF800 LXR, XF800 Sno Pro High Country, XF1100 Turbo, XF1100 Limited, M800, M1100, M800 Sno Pro, M1100 Sno Pro Limited, M800 HCR and M1100 Turbos.

Model names are located either side of the machines’ hoods.
