WIMBELDON, N.D. (AP) — Residents of the southeastern North Dakota town of Wimbledon are at odds with a pair of brothers who some say are cultivating an atmosphere of fear in the community.
Eighteen-year-old Bill Deese is charged with terrorizing after allegedly threatening on Facebook to kill the town's 216 residents. He also faces an earlier terrorizing charge for allegedly threatening to kill a city councilman. His 19-year-old brother, Cody Deese, faces an aggravated assault charge for allegedly knocking an elderly neighbor unconscious.
The Forum newspaper reports (http://bit.ly/xDQlyF) that the brothers also have convictions ranging from assault to theft.
The Deeses' mother, Barb Case, disputes the allegations. She calls the charges against her sons a "witch hunt." She says her family has been treated unfairly since moving to the city three years ago.
