GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - The Grand Forks International Airport is getting a security upgrade that will include a full-body scanner.
The equipment is being installed this week.
Airport Manager Patrick Dame says the full body scanner will be less intrusive than other scanners that have been criticized for being too revealing. There will also be two new x-ray devices for carry-on luggage which will help speed up security lines.
Dame says the new equipment gives the airport the title of having the most advanced security system in North Dakota.
The equipment is expected to be up and running next Thursday.
