NEAR DEVILS LAKE, ND (WDAZ-TV) - Late Monday night, authorities released the identity of a man killed in a car-pedestrian collision south of Devils Lake.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Manuel Edward Littlewind Jr., 28, of St. Michael, ND, died at the scene just before 10 p.m. Sunday about two miles south of Devils Lake.

A 15-year-old juvenile female was driving a 2001 Pontiac south on Highway 20 when she struck Littlewind, who was walking along the right side of the road.

The patrol says Littlewind was wearing all black and the driver couldn't see him in time to avoid hitting him.

Littlewind was taken by Lake Region Ambulance to Gilbertson Funeral Home in Devils Lake.

The vehicle had front, passenger side damage along with mirror and windshield damage. The driver was wearing a seat belt. The road was dry at the time of the crash.
