GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - The Army veteran who shot and mortally wounded himself outside the Altru Hospital emergency room Tuesday will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.

According to an obituary posted on the Amundson Funeral Home website, there will be a memorial service for Sean Dacus, 31, at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 3 at the funeral home at 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks.

There will be a visitation one hour prior to the memorial service.

Dacus drove to Altru on Tuesday, went inside the clinic for a period of time, came out and fired one shot into his chest as he sat at a bench midway between the clinic and emergency room.

Emergency personnel tried to resuscitate Dacus, but they were unsuccessful.

According to police, Dacus wrote "Do not resuscitate" and "donate organs please" in marker on his arm along with his blood type.

After September 11, 2001, Dacus enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Ft. Benning, GA, and Ft. Drum, NY, according to the obituary.

He served two tours of combat duty in Iraq with the 10th Mountain Division before being honorably discharged.

"Sean knew he was always loved and supported by his family," the obituary read.

Dacus was born in Wichita, KS, on June 15, 1980.
