NEAR HOOPLE, ND (WDAZ-TV) - Two people were shot early Thursday morning just north of Hoople, ND.
Police have charged a Hoople man with two felonies including attempted murder.
29-Year-Old Jason Alan Mize is accused of shooting 43-year-old Thomas Denault and 18-year-old Sierra Hobbs.
Walsh County Sheriff's Deputies found a van in the Northern Valley Growers potato warehouse with multiple bullet holes.
Denault and Hobbs were both injured inside the van.
Denault was living in his van and would pull it into the warehouse at night when temperatures got colder.
Denault and Mize were both employed at Northern Valley Growers and likely knew each other through work.
Denault is reported to be in stable condition at Sanford Health in Fargo. Hobbs was treated and released from Altru in Grand Forks.
Mize remains in jail on $200,000 bond and has been charged with attempted murder and attempted manslaughter, both felonies.
Should Mize post bond, he has to remain in his home from 6 p.m. to noon with no contact with the victims. He can't use alcohol or a controlled substance, and cannot have any firearms.
As of Friday evening, Mize had not posted bond.
The Walsh County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Grand Forks Narcotics Task Force and the Pembina County Sheriff's Office.
