Thompson, ND, Teen Injured as Pickup Strikes Light Pole, Rolls in N. Washington St. Crash

GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - A man rolled his pickup, possibly several times, and struck a light pole on North Washington St. in Grand Forks late Monday afternoon.

GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV) - A Thompson, ND, teenager was injured as he rolled his pickup and crashed into two light poles in a N. Washington St. crash Monday afternoon.

Police say Cody D. Wilson, 18, was taken to Altru Hospital. He was listed as in satisfactory condition on Tuesday.

According to witnesses, Wilson was driving a 1994 white Ford Ranger southbound in the 900 block of N. Washington at a high rate of speed. At 4:51 p.m., Wilson lost control of the pickup and struck a light pole on the west side of the road.

The pickup's front axle broke off and struck a 2005 Chrysler passenger car that was also traveling southbound.

The driver of the Chrysler, Tricia Anderson, 41, of Grand Forks was not injured.

After the axle broke off, Wilson's pickup rolled and struck another light pole on the passenger side, where it finally stopped.

Wilson had to be cut out of the vehicle by emergency responders.

The pickup was totaled.
