Hillsboro Couple Hospitalized After Crash With Beet Topper

HALSTAD, Minn. – A husband and wife from Hillsboro, N.D., were taken to a Fargo hospital Wednesday night after their car collided with the front corner of a beet topper being pulled by a tractor on a bridge over the Red River, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

HALSTAD, Minn. – A husband and wife from Hillsboro, N.D., were taken to a Fargo hospital Wednesday night after their car collided with the front corner of a beet topper being pulled by a tractor on a bridge over the Red River, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

The crash happened just before 8 p.m. on Highway 200 west of Halstad.

Donald Thorson, 76, who was driving a 1993 Oldsmobile, and his wife and passenger, Lois Thorson, 75, were taken to Sanford Medical Center with unknown injuries. Their conditions weren’t known.

The driver of the tractor, Jesus B. Sanchez, 43, address unknown, wasn’t injured, the patrol said.
