DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – A Fosston couple sustained injuries when their motorcycle collided with a deer Wednesday in rural Becker County, Sheriff Tim Gordon says.
Todd Pearson, 50, was driving the motorcycle when it struck the deer at about 5 p.m. on Becker County 37 two miles south of State Highway 133, or about 35 miles northeast of Detroit Lakes.
He was airlifted to a Fargo hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Nancy Pearson, 50, also was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Gordon stated in a news release.
The accident “would clearly have been more serious” had the victims not been wearing helmets at the time, Gordon stated in the release.
