West Fargo Library hosts "Read to Dogs" program

2 / 2

West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The summer reading program at West Fargo Public Library has gone to the dogs - in the best way possible.

This afternoon, children at the West Fargo Public Library practiced reading books to dogs.

The dogs are trained therapy animals from Red River Valley Therapy Pets.

Organizers say having a dog to read to takes the pressure off so kids feel more comfortable reading to an audience.

Diane Fink- Program Coordinator: "The dogs don't even care if there are any mistakes made. It gives the kids a good chance to visit with friendly dogs and they love to have someone to read to."

The summer reading program has seen record enrollment this year.
