West Acres Managers say Feist was only inside the mall for a matter of minutes before he was taken into custody.

They credit both employees and the public for handling the situation so well.

And say they've spent the day meeting with local law enforcement and mall tenants to determine what can be done better.

Chris Heaton/West Acres Property Manager: “The stores did a good job self-managing in the lockdown situation. There are definitely places that we can improve, there always are. That's going to be the case no matter what happens. After every drill that we go through, we look at ways we can improve.”

Heaton says they train for situations like this one every month at the mall.
