The cost? Almost $25,000.

The rest of the budget is minimal for improvements and maintenance to the area.

Over the years, the county has been working to improve Brewer Lake.

It's expected to bring in about $11,000 this year, from campground rent.

Commissioners say the publics response to the updates has been good.

Chad Peterson/ Cass Co. Commissioner: "One caller gave me a jingle and said 'I'm no longer afraid to let my daughter go to Brewer Lake.' That didn't speak to what was there before, but we just know it's a safer, cleaner, better environment for all our users."

Other improvements the board talked about for the future, included planting trees and a fish cleaning station.
