Streets Alive taking over Downtown
Fargo-Moorhead (WDAY TV) - There were hundreds of people on the streets of Fargo-Moorhead today getting active in all kinds of ways.
For the 5th year in a row Streets Alive took over downtown.
For 3 miles traffic was diverted to encourage all types of physical activity.
One of the new attractions this year was a pop up bike lane to give people an idea of what it would be like during traffic.
Other events included fencing and hula-hoop dancing.
Keely Ihry/ Health Educator: "We know that when you start being physically active at a young age you're probably more likely to continue that physical activity throughout your life. And when you can learn how to ride a bike and get out there and learn some of those bike safety skills that would make you feel more comfortable to continue bike riding throughout your life."
The next Streets Alive event is on August 24th.
