Some votes counted twice in Detroit Township
Detroit Lakes, MN (WDAY TV) - An electronic counting process caused votes to be recorded twice in Detroit Township during the recent primary election.
County Administrator Jack Ingstad says the mistake didn't change the winners, but it did change the vote totals.
The error was caught when paper and electronic results were compared.
They also faced other technology issues including not knowing the proper way to report absentee ballots to the secretary of state website and running absentee ballots before regular ones.
