Ricky Hearden the III wins Bobcat Open

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Final round play of the Dakota Tour's Bobcat Open this afternoon.

Two-time champ Tim Ailes on 16, just misses the long putt. He goes on to tap in for birdie, Ailes finishes tied for 4th.

Defending Champ Andre Metgzger with the birdie putt from the fringe on 18, he puts that one a few feet past the hole; Metzger finishes four under on the day.

It wasn't good enough to take down Ricky Hearden the Third though.

Hearden with the eagle chip on 16, coming up just short. He shoots 7 under on the day, winning his first even as a professional.

Hearden finishes two strokes ahead of Metzger, Jeff Berkshire, Ailes and Doug Quinones round out the top five.

Ricky Hearden III/Bobcat ND Open Champion (-16): “Obviously I had some things go my way, you always need to in order to win. I played good today, today is the best I played in a long time. As long as I got off to that good start I knew I was going to be right in it. I got off to a really good start, three under through four. I put myself right in the tournament.”
