The Hawks are leaving for Wichita later Thursday night meaning they were willing to wait around all day to get Thursday's game in.

Jake Laber on the mound for the Hawks looking for his 5th win, he got some great defense behind him. He gets Junior Arrojo to ground to Zach Penprase at short. He starts the 6 - 4 - 3 inning ending double play.

In the bottom of the 5th the rain came, 2 hour and 42 minute rain delay, but fireworks during it.

Doug Siminic and CJ Retherford both get tossed. Retherford was batting with the bases loaded when the delay started.

So Travis Higgs comes in and the first pitch he sees hits him. Penprase comes in form third for a 1-nothing lead.

They hold that lead into the 7th, more defense with Joe Harris on the mound, Steve Nyisztor lines to Brandon Newton. He flips to Petey Paramore at first for the 4th double play of the game. Hawks win it 1-0.

Travis Higgs/Game Winning RBI: “I mean I knew from the start that I was going to take the first pitch and just see what would happen from there.  I was put in a good situation, CJ put me in a two oh count before he got tossed.  I was just gonna take the first pitch and see what happened from there and it hit me and luckily one run was enough to win the game.”

RedHawks now start a stretch where 16 of their next 25 on the road.
