RedHawks 12 Sioux Falls 3

2 / 2

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - You can't really say that the RedHawks were happy to be home tonight, after all they haven't won at Newman Outdoor in their last 8 tries, dating back to June 24th.

While the Hawks have had trouble winning at home, this guy in the sumo suit had other problems, with the Sweet Right Brothers.

You heard CJ Retherford at 6 say that it was time to end the drought at home, this helps, Retherford's bloop single plates Zach Penprase for a 1-0 Hawks lead.

Later in the inning, Petey Paramore puts it in play, the third baseman fields it, but the 1st baseman AJ Kirby-Jones can't get it to stay in the glove. Retherford makes it 2-0 RedHawks.

The wind was blowing out, and the Hawks take advantage in the 4th, Brandon Tripp making his home debut, and he sends one high enough to let the wind blow it out for a 3-run homerun. Hawks take a 5-2 lead.

Brian Ernst continues to eat innings for the Hawks, he pitches 8 innings, allowing just 6 hits and 3 runs to pick up the win.

The offense helped too, RedHawks snap the home losing skid, with a 12-3 win.
