Recapping the Minnesota State High School Champions for 2013-14
Fargo ND 301 8th St. S. 58103

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - With the state baseball titles being handed out Monday at Target Field, that puts a wrap on the high school sports year.

Wednesday we'll look at the great performances from each side of the river.

The Minnesota sports year was filled with great moments; there may not have been a better moment than in March at Concordia, where Park Christian's boys basketball team claimed the section title, making state for the first time in school history, led by former Bison head coach Erv Inniger.

Another first came in March for the Win-E-Mac girls’ basketball team, a dominant team over the past couple of years, finally got over the hump to claim a state championship.

Dominance is the best way to describe the East Grand Forks boys’ hockey team, outscoring teams 14-5 at state to claim the school's first title.

So close is the best way to describe some teams years, Fergus Falls taking 3rd  in volleyball, East Side girls runner in hockey, New York Mills falling short in baseball's title game as did Underwood in football.

Dynasties were established in Detroit Lakes and Mahnomen; the Laker girls’ golf team ran away from the field, winning by 58 shots for a 3rd straight title, while Mahnomen racked up a 28th straight win and in the process completed back to back state titles.
