Police: Man kicks out squad car window after arrest for alleged car theft

Daniel Tail

Fargo, ND - A man arrested early Thursday while allegedly driving a stolen car can add damaging a police car to his list of suspected crimes.

Fargo police Sergeant Mark Lykken said an officer was on patrol near the 400 block of Broadway at about 1:20 a.m. Thursday when he spotted a vehicle the officer recognized as having been reported stolen.

He stopped the driver, Daniel Tail, 40, and arrested him on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, a felony.

While Tail was in the back of the squad car, he began kicking at the right-side rear window, said Lykken, damaging the door frame.

Tail was also charged with criminal mischief and driving under suspension, both misdemeanors, Lykken said.
