Donated pianos get a fresh coat of colorful paint and are placed in public for anyone to sit down and tickle the keys.

The first one appeared on Broadway outside Uptown Gallery today.

The second was a work in progress at tonight's Corks and Canvas, where members of the public were invited to make their mark.

Susanne Williams/Artist: “Down the road, I can see pianos on every block of downtown Fargo, pianos on every block of downtown Moorhead. It would be something that would be a great way to connect our community.”

Artist Susanne Williams says she was inspired by similar projects in other cities. The pianos stay outside, rain or shine.
