One year anniversary of legalized same-sex marriage in Minnesota
Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - In Minnesota, today marks the one year anniversary of legalized same-sex marriage.
Minnesota was the 13th state to issue marriage licenses to gay couples last August.
Since then thousands of same-sex couples have said their I-dos in the state.
In Clay County, the court has officiated 73 same-sex marriages and local couples say they've noticed more acceptance in the area.
Monte Jones/Getting Married Next Week: “This isn't really about us; this is about the community accepting us. We've always been who we were. We haven't changed, it's the community that's changed.”
Next Friday, Jones will be marrying his partner of ten years in Moorhead.
