Norv Turner looks for Vikings offense to score points this season
Mankato, MN (WDAY TV) - The Vikings finally got to throw on the pads for practice today at training camp.
But, wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson was sidelined once again with that foot injury.
When Patterson does get on the field, it will be interesting to see what role he'll play in Norv Turner's offense. Turner certainly has some weapons to play with this year.
Adrian Peterson has been catching several passes early in camp and a slimmer Kyle Rudolph has tailored his route running to fit Turner's scheme for tight ends.
It's all part of what the veteran coach wants to do to make sure the Vikings offense can put up some points this season.
Norv Turner/Vikings Offensive Coordinator: “We're going to be a physical running team and a power running team. Hopefully, we can be a team that can create some explosive plays and hopefully that means explosive plays in the passing game and to the backs whether that's runs or screens. What you have to do in this league now is that you have to score points. That's what we're working on right now. We need to be able to move the ball and score points.”
