North Dakota State Match Play begins Thursday with qualifying
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - One of the top golf tournaments the state of North Dakota has to offer returns to the Red River Valley this year with the state's match play event; being contested for the next four days at Rose Creek; today was qualifying.
Defending Champ Bill Carlson squares up for a short birdie putt on 12 and gets it to go. The Bison golfer shoots a 2-over 73.
His college teammate and former West Fargo Packer Connor Holland is locked in on hole nine. He's good with his putter from 8 feet away, to drill the birdie. Holland is still on the course.
It was birdie after birdie for future Gopher Riley Johnson, except when the camera was on, of course. This putt is just off the mark on 16, he'd tap in for par. Johnson leads the way with a 66.
