NDSU Football Coach starts fundraiser for friend
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) – Meanwhile, Heckendorf's former teammate is doing what he can to help support his friend.
Tyler Roehl has started a fund to help Heckendorf's family regain everything they lost in the fire.
Heckendorf and his wife had been staying in the home where the crash and fire took place temporarily.
The home was owned by Heckendorf's brother-in-law Jeff Hille, who's a former NDSU baseball pitcher.
The home was full of furniture for Heckendorf and his wife's new home.
The fire destroyed it all.
Tyler Roehl/ Started Fundraiser: “Kole Heckendorf is like a brother to me and for him to go through something that traggic... broke my heart. You know, in the midst of a huge football camp.. I just dropped everything just to try and reach out to him the best I can.”
