Moorhead Police launch internal affairs investigation into high speed pursuit
Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Moorhead police have now launched an internal affairs investigation into that pursuit.
It began around 7 p.m. after officers were notified by the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation that Feist was in Moorhead.
Lieutenant Tory Jacobson says they are compiling video and reports to determine whether officers acted appropriately.
In addition, they are reviewing their current vehicle pursuit policy to ensure they are acting in the interest of public safety.
Lt. Troy Jacobson/Moorhead Public Department: "Vehicle pursuits for officers are very dynamic. Obviously, there is a lot of information and a lot of things happening. The expectation is that they're making good decisions and they're processing it appropriately with the information that they have. And we have to know what exact information they had and what decisions they were making for us to be fair to evaluate."
